The Subaru Impreza has been manufactured since 1992. It is a compact car, and was introduced as a replacement for the Leone.
Now in its fifth generation (2019), Subaru has offered a four-door sedan, five-door wagon, and five-door hatch since the initial introduction. A coupe was also sold 1995-2001. The engine is a “boxer” flat-four that ranges from 1.5 to 2.5 litres. There is also the performance-oriented turbocharged Impreza WRX and WRX STI models (named as such from the 3rd generation onward).
Since the late 1990s, the Impreza has been available in both front wheel drive, and all wheel drive, although both are not always available in all markets. In 2019 the Impreza was named as the least depreciating sedan after five years, by ISeeCars.
